Position Summary:

As a key member of Coupons, Inc. development team, you will create world-class software tools and help build the platform for our cutting-edge online consumer coupons product. You will develop and maintain highly scalable systems and contribute to all aspects of the software development cycle. The ideal software engineering candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective communication skills, be independent, self motivated, able to work efficiently in a dynamic and demanding environment.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly scalable, 24/7 consumer internet applications.
  • Work independently completing small to large sized projects while managing competing priorities in a demanding production environment.
  • Deliver on projects from end to end (documentation to production grade code to support procedures) while functioning within the process and disciplines established in the Engineering team.
  • Work collaboratively among groups within engineering (QA, Database Administration, and Network Ops) and outside engineering to drive allocated projects to completion.
  • Actively participate in high level engineering team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations.


Position Qualifications:

  • BS in CS (or equivalent) and 3-5 years of hands-on software design and development experience or data and mathematical analysis.
  • Strong hands on skills in - ASP, .Net, C#, C++, MSSQL, logical design and stored procedures. Web Technologies (HTML, Javascript, XML, XSL, solid understanding of HTTP protocol).
  • Ideal (but not required) skills/experience working with complex data models, large databases, extensive reporting and data analysis.
  • Ideal (but not required) experience in developing/building browser side plugins or small web client software components that interact with a server.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience in the design and development of client/server and multi-tier software systems.
  • Experience in a high-availability and mission-critical environment.
  • Keen ability to understand end user experience and business needs.
  • Strongly prefer candidates who have internet and/or start-up company experience.
