The Directv.com Product Development Group is looking for a full-time leader for our growing front-end development team that is working on high profile projects with the nation’s biggest Satellite TV provider. This person will be working in the context of a multi-channel experience across different platforms such as web, mobile, and set top box. The solutions include content, e-commerce, and interactive applications while working on a dedicated scrum team within an agile-based development methodology.

 

This is a very tactical leadership role that needs to evolve the team quickly, recruit additional team members, define and integrate process, take over ownership of coding style guide and CSS standards, and create a front-end testing methodology and lab. The team under this lead specializes in front-end technologies such as JSP, Flash, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, and DHTML.
 
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about designing and developing a fantastic user experience on the net. This position would take direction from the Director of Product Development while working with other team leads to execute projects.

Qualifications/Experience:

5-7 years building websites with a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science.

  • Large web development projects in a fast-paced online environment interacting with business analysts, information architects, visual designers, and web developers.
  • Flash, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and JSP
  • Cross-browser compatible, standards compliant table-less websites in semantic XHTML, CSS2 & unobtrusive JavaScript
  • AJAX and JS libraries such as Prototype, Scriptaculous, Dojo, Mootools a plus.
  • Web analytics (HitBox/Omniture a plus)
  • Content management tools (ATG/Teamsite a plus)
  • User experience tools (Tea Leaf a plus)
  • Version control systems (Subversion a plus)
  • Full life cycle web development (ideation to post launch support)
  • Multiple projects at once while meeting aggressive production deadlines.
  • Interact with various business, design, user experience, and IT stakeholders
  • Online media, online content delivery, and entertainment a plus
  • Excellent verbal & written skills and strong organizational skills
