Vice President Business Development Permuto Permuto, Inc. is a Palo Alto based early-stage stealth mode company that is focused on developing a next generation online advertising platform. The company has an experienced world-class management team formerly from Yahoo!, DoubleClick, Oracle, Microsoft and Rhythm New Media with leading technology and domain expertise. The company is funded by Rembrandt Venture Partners, OnSet Ventures, SoftTech VC, and well known individual investors like Reid Hoffman and Sridar Iyengar. Permuto, Inc. is looking for a VP of Business Development with ability to build great teams and close big deals. This role is responsible for developing business opportunities with advertising supported online media publishers, advertisers and agencies in the online display advertising business. The position will be located in Permuto’s Palo Alto offices. Responsibilities: - Develop new business and closely manage partners relationships to maximize revenue opportunities. - Help to identify and evaluate trends in online targeted advertising. - Strategize and structure deal terms. - Lead external negotiations for large multi-million dollar content, media, and technology deals with advertisers, agencies, content partners and other third party vendors and technology providers in support of Permuto's business. - Lead a team of business development professionals and recruit additional team members as needed. - Track and report on major trends in the sector to ensure that the company’s products meet the requirements of its distribution network. - Ability to analyze and act on external market trends, customer and partner data to help influence direction of product development. Required Experience: - 7+ years of functional BD experience - Strong understanding of online shopping and merchant relationships - Excellent business acumen and strong understanding of online advertising space - Strong leadership, management and team building skills that will include experience managing and recruiting highly competent, business development and partnership executives at all levels. - Experience structuring and successfully negotiating complicated deals Preferred Experience 1) Start-up experience 2) MBA from top schools Personal Attributes 1) High energy, able and willing to work hard and smart, travel as needed; and ready for the demands of a high energy start up 2) References at all previous positions held should be at the “super star” level, on the following scale: super star, excellent, good, above average, average 3) Lots of initiative and drive. 6) Has the patience to build a high value company patiently 8) Excellent team builder and player. 9) Good chemistry with current team and investors 10) Results oriented, extremely proactive & highly responsive with great attention to detail Contact: Tina Duccini tduccini@permuto.com or tduccini@yahoo.com http://www.linkedin.com/in/tinaduccini
