CBS Interactive has an opening for a talented Senior Analyst - Page Performance with exposure to all technical groups across CBS Interactive. The position requires Internet protocol knowledge and skill, innovative thinking, attention to detail, and most importantly outstanding communication and engagement skills.

A successful candidate will have a strong passion for the technology they use, and must have experience in many of the following areas:
 
Optimizing page performance
Familiarity with the latest tools and techniques in this area. (YSlow, Fiddler, PageSpeed, Wireshark) 
Ability to produce timely, high-visibility analysis for executive consumption
Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to communicate effectively via email, blogs, on the phone and in person.
Participation in internal and external organizations (meetups, etc) is a bonus. End-user SQL capability is required.
Thorough knowledge of website construction including analysis and use of advanced javascript. style
Website mockups will be required for diagnostic
purposes.
Extensive understanding of website operation including DNS and CDN usage
Comfort in a Linux environment.
Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze
data from disparate online systems.

Curiosity and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Superior troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Candidates should posses a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training and experience) or higher and must be able to work effectively.
Must pass a background check.


Pluses:
Knowledge of SEO theory and
practice, including how it relates to page
performance.
Familiarity with correct use of external monitoring vendors.
HTML5 Capabilities and Usage Internet Advertising ecosystem knowledge as it relates to privacy and performance.
HTTP and TCP-level  Networking

Statistical knowledge and visual representation of data.
Common infrastructure services like Apache, Tomcat, Solr, LDAP, MySQL, etc.
Server-side programming skills.
Experience with content management systems.
JSON, HTML, CSS Linux system administration ability. and Usage Internet Advertising ecosystem knowledge as it relates to privacy and performance.
