The US Federal Civilian Agencies Practice of Microsoft Enterprise Services has an exciting opportunity in Washington, DC for a Senior Consultant with deep application-development experience, infrastructure and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server technologies. Working as an integral part of the Microsoft account team, you will help to foster trusted-advisor relationships while assisting customers realize maximum value from their investment in Microsoft technologies. You will work among the best and brightest on the front lines of innovation with Microsoft technology, allowing you to provide crucial feedback to the product development teams to ensure the ongoing success of our products and services.
To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate the following basic technical qualifications:
• Application architecture and development experience with the ASP.NET and .NET/Services Oriented Architectural models, e.g., .NET Framework, CLR, XML, C#, ASP.Net, VS.Net, Team Foundation Server, web services and associated technologies and standards
• Enterprise deployment experience in complex heterogeneous environments
• Knowledge of full application development life cycle and management
• Knowledge of design patterns, tools and methodologies such as object oriented design, AJAX patterns, software factory and agile development
In addition, it is strongly preferred that your background includes significant enterprise-level experience in one or more of the following solution areas within large enterprise environments, Experience with US Federal Customers or Systems Integrators is a plus:
Enterprise Portal Architecture:
• Microsoft’s Office SharePoint Portal Server solutions and Windows SharePoint Services, specifically MOSS 2007 and/or WSS v3 to include WebPart Development and Workflow solutions.
• Knowledge of latest .NET framework (i.e., Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation, and Windows Presentation Foundation)
• Experience with related Microsoft Server technologies is a plus (i.e., BizTalk, Content Management Server, SQL Server with Analytical/Integration/Reporting Services
• Knowledge of latest Microsoft Office Products such as InfoPath, Excel Service preferred
Enterprise Application Integration:
• Deep experience with Microsoft BizTalk Server
• Microsoft SQL Server knowledge strongly desired
• Experience with process-mapping methodologies and tools
• Experience with Service Oriented/Distributed Application Architecture
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/Active Directory, and Internet Information Server
Database Architecture and Business Intelligence:
• Database architecture, design, implementation, and operations experience focusing on Microsoft SQL Server
• Data modeling and Data Transformation and Loading (DTL)
• Experience with Business Intelligence applications
• Analysis Services design and tuning
• Cube design
• Data Warehouse schema design experience
To be successful in this position you must have excellent communication skills and the proven ability to interact with senior-level technical and business decision-makers as a strategic advisor. The role requires broad technology knowledge and the ability to architect solutions by mapping business problems to end-to-end technology solutions, so you must demonstrate a mix of advanced technology and business acumen.
This person will be a spokesperson for Microsoft and will meet with customers, partners and key industry influencers to present our vision. He/she must be fluent in all aspects of products and services and possess excellent presentation skills to concisely design, articulate and present our strategy to decision makers within the industry.
Travel is an integral part of this position. Although a majority of our work is based locally, candidates must be willing and able to travel as demanded by the needs of our customers and our business.
