PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
This Principal User Experience Designer position is reserved for someone who is driven by the
desire to create history by making business software enjoyable. Doing this requires inspiration
from fields not typically associated with enterprise software: videogames, advertising, interactive
art, creative content production tools, etc. It requires a personality which actively seeks out and
lives the newest interactive experiences and incorporates them into their work. The ideal
candidate’s dream job is focused on designing things that work well, look good, and help people
do their work better.
You will work in a small team whose charter is to reinvent enterprise user experience. You will
be responsible for creating and driving the interaction, UI, and architectural concepts which will
translate business and technical requirements into patterns and solutions which bring SAP’s
Professional and Casual User applications to the next level of design excellence. You will need
to be both self-motivated and able to involve others to resolve ambiguity; to do so you’ll have to
be intelligent and team-oriented. You’ll need to be able to present clearly, write and document
articulately, and will be required to produce a variety of deliverables from task flow and entity
relationship diagrams to wireframes and graphic assets for audiences ranging from product
managers, other designers, developers, architects and top-level executives.
If you have the talent and are looking for the thriving and dynamic approach most associated
with a startup but with the stability and security of a large company that can bring your design to
product reality, this opportunity is for you.
