Senior UI Tech Lead

Description:
Our office is seeking driven and dedicated "strong hands-on" technical leads, to implement and manage projects and human capital (teams of 5) to manage strong developers and mentor weak developers.
Leadership, management, and mentoring experience is required.
We develop rich User Interfaces, Screens as well as powerful backend servers in C++ (80% technical/20% Lead).
You will contribute to all phases of software engineering ranging from requirements through release.

Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of software development: Preferable experience in C/C++ but Strong Java OR C# and Very good knowledge of C++ is ok.
Very good knowledge of Unix and/or Windows.
Strong Technical Lead/PM experience
Able to solve a problem without even looking at the code is desirable
Able to look at a UI and know what's good about it AND what's bad.
Self starter, able to define business requirements from the clients/users perspective and adjust accordingly to make it better.
Strong experience with Open Source projects & Polished UI development.
Experience sitting in UI review, tweak & tweak to make perfect
Understanding of the capacity of the hardware and can write code to squeeze out max performance, make as efficient as possible. Understands processor usage and how bad code will use too much power and can kill the processor.
Experience with and/or interest in full software development lifecycle activities: requirements management, technical design, implementation, testing/release and ability to own a project.
Equity indices financial knowledge is a plus
Qualifications:
- Leadership, management, and mentoring experience strongly desired
- Awareness of your current product and business domain with suggested improvements you might make is required
- 3 years of software development experience in C/C++ (a diversity of languages
with excellence in one is an alternative)
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Demonstrated ability to pickup projects and run them even with no prior business domain expertise
- Experience with and/or interest in full software development lifecycle activities: requirements management, technical design, implementation, testing/release
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with enhancing and maintaining mission-critical software in a fast-
paced environment is a plus but not necessary
- Equity financial knowledge is a plus but not necessary
- UNIX experience is useful but a demonstrated excellent understanding of your
current platform can be substituted
Candidates must exhibit strategic thinking, an aggressive drive, and an expert aptitude for engineering quality software.
Interest in developing financial applications is a must.
