Job Description:

 
Primary Functions: 
1. Design, develop, maintain, and enhance embedded Linux products as a principal member of our Engineering team. Our products provide secure connectivity and administration of various third-party equipment, including auditing, alarm management, and automated maintenance. 

2. Become an expert in relevant technologies, such as Linux development, network and system security, networking, firewalls and NAT, and general best practices. 
 
3.  Work closely with other developers, QA, Presales, and Technical Support to ensure high quality products, and to resolve customer issues. 
 
4.  Other duties as assigned to meet business needs. 
 
 
Qualifications/Requirements: 
1.  Expert knowledge of C/C++, Linux development and administration, low-level TCP/IP, firewalls, NAT, security, and encryption. 

2.  Self-starter with exceptional initiative; must rapidly become a primary resource in a small-company setting. 
 
3. Successful history of designing, developing, and documenting robust software for embedded devices, including diagnostics. 
 
4.  Exemplary adherence to best practices and continual improvement. 
 
5.  Resourceful, self-managing problem-solver with the ability to multitask among projects with tight and often conflicting deadlines. 
 
6.  Degree in CS/EE or 5+ years? equivalent work experience. 
 
7.  Ability and desire to learn new technologies rapidly and thoroughly, and to communicate complex ideas and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. 
 
 
 Other Pluses: 
1.  Positive, energetic,  "can do"  attitude. 
 
2.  Current knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies, including hardware, software, protocols, tools, etc. 
 
3.  Experience with Java, TCL, Lua, C++, VB6, COM, SQL, IIS, Web programming. 
 
4.  Understanding of UI design principles.
