Position Summary

The Learning & Development Manager will be part of the Learning & Development team in supporting Organic's agency-wide learning initiatives and programs.

This individual is critical to the success of the established training group.

This role will be responsible primarily for instructional design & development of training for all business units/disciplines; facilitation will also be expected.

This person will work collaboratively with the L&D team and subject matter experts to quickly develop training and materials that support key business priorities and objectives, to design learning strategies and to project manage effective training program formats.

Responsibilities


  • Consult and develop training curriculum and learning strategies using instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Develop and design performance support materials, such as facilitator and participant guides, and/or job aids.
  • Utilize measurement & reporting methodologies to demonstrate the change in behavior and/or performance.
  • Work with other members of the Learning & Development team to roll out training efforts.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SME) and internal partners to contribute to the design, development and maintenance of training programs.
  • Manage multiple training projects, often in short time frames, and remain flexible to changing priorities.
  • Facilitate training in various formats and using a variety of training techniques via instructor-led/classroom or virtual learning (e.g., Adobe Connect, Presenter, Captivate or similar distance-learning technology).

Qualifications


  • A BA/BS degree or certification in instructional design, education, or related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience curriculum development, including projects in developing elearning solutions.
  • Successfully demonstrated ability to:


    • design and write training course materials that follow instructional design processes, including appropriate self-testing exercises and quizzes - that are informative and engaging at the same time
    • think creatively by shaping compelling visual materials that are effective and retained
    • independently work under aggressive timelines while managing multiple projects in parallel.
    • prioritize workload and adapt to a changing business environment
    • analyze reports and documentation
    • understand marketing/advertising industry and related skill sets
    • appreciate excellence and high quality in the finished product; attention to detail is critical to success be professional
    • communicate effectively both in verbal and written channels
  • An intuitive/creative thinker and self-starter.
  • A problem identifier and solver.
  • Proficient with documentation and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Able to travel from San Francisco home base to New York, Toronto and Detroit from 0-15% per year.
  • Experience in a marketing or advertising role (e.g., managing accounts, designer, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in a digital marketing or advertising agency preferred.
