As Senior Systems Engineer you will focus on the day to day and tactical Pre-Production Operations of our rapidly expanding web-based small business offerings, ensuring service scalability and reliability, ultimately responsible for your offering's health. Additionally you will apply your project management skills to operationalizing new offerings and system improvements. You will develop, enhance and deploy monitoring solutions and assist in evaluating infrastructure improvements for long term growth and cost efficiency. While acting as a liaison with the remote corporate operations organization you will be a primary escalation to resolve pre-production related issues. This is a fast paced dynamic environment which requires an energetic self starter with creative approaches to solving complex problems. Qualifications:
6+ years systems administration experience managing enterprise Unix/Linux environment
Scripting (Shell, Perl, CGI, etc.), X, Mail, SSH, HTTP/S, Networking and Apache Web Server, some flavor of Java technologies (Java, JDBC, Jserv, JBOSS)
Excellent troubleshooting capabilities
Good teamwork skills, with strong communication proficiency
Excellent Project Management skills
Must possess ability to work effectively and efficiently in a cross-functional environment
Knowledge of Tomcat and Oracle/SQL, Sybase Mobilink, a plus.
B.S. Computer Science degree (or equivalent)
Knowledge of ITIL a strong plus
Knowledge of systems and internet security a strong plus
