Responsibilities:
·      Day to day management and administration of LinkedIn’s datacenter server infrastructure, including servers, switches, PDUs, cabinets, etc…
·      Hands on management of the small team which administers more than 1,000 Unix Servers. Participate in the 24x7 pager rotation schedule.
·      Analyze system performance and capacity issues as well as hardware and OS related incidents. Management of various administrative and monitoring tools.
·      Schedule job rotation and work assignments based on requirements and handle hiring and training needs for systems personnel. Provide ongoing coaching and supervision, as well as career planning for team members.
·      Provide escalation (Tier 2) support for production Site and application incidents, working closely with the Site Operations and DBA teams. Responsible for managing the various request ticket queues.
·      Accountable for attaining SLAs for incident response and resolution, as well as ongoing release and capacity provisioning needs.
·      Participate in the implementation and maintenance of the BCP and Disaster Recovery process for responsible infrastructure components.
·      Contribute to the planning and execution of our overall Data Center strategies.
·      Quickly build credibility for strong technical and people leadership with the wider Linkedin organization.

Mandatory Qualifications:
    * 5+ years of Data Center Operations experience in highly scalable Solaris environments including 2 years in a team lead or management role
    * Deep knowledge of Solaris systems administration
    * Demonstrated experience in managing a co-located datacenter
    * Experience managing infrastructure planning
    * Proven track record in data center management experience    
    * Solid experience in storage management and provisioning    
    * Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
 
* Experience with budget planning
* BS degree with emphasis on Computer Science or related area from a leading University

* Experience within a 24x7 Web 2.0 environment with complex, multi-tiered, highly scalable and highly available systems.
