Senior Unix Engineer - Concentration in Storage

 

Location: San Francisco, CA, San Mateo, CA, or Reston, VA


We are looking for a talented storage engineer to help drive the direction of our storage related projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the rest of the Technical Operations team to ensure that the Salesforce.com Service is available and performing flawlessly at all times. There is an added opportunity to help drive the direction of Salesforce.com's storage infrastructure. Currently we employ all of the technologies listed below to help manage and maintain our more than 1 Petabyte production storage infrastructure.

Requirements:

 

  • Background in large-scale unix environments with a strong concentration in Linux and Solaris.
  • Strong working knowledge of Sun Cluster running Oracle 9iRAC/10g databases and an intimate understanding of Veritas Volume Manager.
  • Strong applied experience with all or most of the following storage related technologies:
        - HDS USP1100/NSC55 (Sun SE9990/SE9985)

    - EMC DMX4 950/2500
    - HDS/Sun Entry/mid-level storage arrays
    - Cisco MDS Director Class Switches
    - Block-level replication
    - ShadowImage/TrueCopy/Universal Volume Replicator/SRDF
    - CCI
    - MPxIO
    - Sun QFS
    - Tiered Storage
    - DMP
    - Dynamic Reconfiguration
    - RAID Levels
    - SVM/LVM
