Responsibilities

Work closely with Senior Engineer to develop specific sub-systems of our online exchange platform

Taking algorithm designs, UML, and other descriptions of functionality to quickly produce a working prototype

Integrate UIs from the designers into prototypes

Investigate & analyze performance bottlenecks

Writing pseudocode and documentation for all developed algorithms

Experience

Developing large & scalable systems

Rapid prototyping

Cross-platform development (e.g. POSIX threads, sockets, deploying desktop software on Mac, Win, & Linux)

Knowledge of financial markets a plus

Skills

Proficient in C, C++, PHP, and MySQL

Strong understanding of design patterns (such as MVC), object-oriented programming, algorithms, and scalability

Comfortable with XHTML / CSS

Education

Bachelor's / Master's in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
