Senior UI Designer

Primary Job Responsibilities:

You would become an integral part our client's User Experience & Design team (UED). The UED team works with the user community and business units to understand needs and opportunities, and design global products that serve users and exceed business goals. Our client create long-term user experience visions that addresses current issues while scaling for future opportunities. They initiate strategies that move them toward those visions.

Job Requirements:

• At least 6 years of professional design experience preferably with a focus on creating rich web applications. Experience in ecommerce is a plus.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, or related field. A Masters degree and/or experience with trust and reputation systems is preferred.
• Defining long-term user experience strategies.
• Presenting new product ideas and strategies to the executive staff.
• Presenting designs in progress to the executive staff and to the user community.
• Leading the design team to explore design options.
• Creating and applying design frameworks that consider the entire client's site and user experience.
• Setting the design direction for your projects and collaborating with others designers working in the space.
• Writing product specifications (IA, work flow, page functionality and layout, etc.), which engineering uses to build the product.
• Working with engineering to ensure the product is built according to your specs.
• Working with Product Manager to evaluate product success and next steps.
• Mentoring and guiding more junior designers.
• Identifying and leading process improvements that make the UI Design group more efficient and effective.
• Contributing to a culture of innovation and teamwork with measurable positive results.
• Representing our client in the broader design community through conferences talks, papers, networking, etc.

Candidate must be willing to work onsite at client's campus in San Jose.
