POSITION SUMMARY:
Intuit's Financial Institutions Division, Digital Insight, is looking for an accomplished, Experience Design Researcher. This high-level XD Researcher, through close collaboration with customers, will guide offering teams to conceive of and shape products and services that delight our users. The XD Researcher’s goal is to inform and inspire teams, by virtue of their research expertise, to help make the overall user experience as easy, intuitive and pleasant as possible.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal candidate will be well versed in a number of research methodologies, be capable of creating long term research plans & protocols, be able to work with Design and Marketing to gather customer feedback, and make design recommendations that meet Intuit’s high ease of use standards. The XD Researcher provides a continuous cycle of learning from the problem identification phase, through the implementation and execution phases, to market launch and beyond. Their learnings also help to guide the strategy and designs for upcoming releases and new growth areas.
Qualifications :
• Deep experience with multiple research methodologies
• Strong leadership qualities that enable you to lead cross-functional teams when needed
• Able to drive improvements across multiple, complex products that meet ease of use, delight and business metrics
• Able to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information and present the results to the stakeholders
• Capable of delivering video highlight supported debrief reports that include prioritized recommendations
• Experience with using storyboards, wireframes, rough screen shots or other images for proof of concept exercises or to communicate potential solutions to product/feature problems
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Willing to teach best standards to larger XD community at Intuit
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Five+ years ethnography, usability, user research professional/corporate work
• Strong understanding and practice of the fundamentals of social research and ethnography
• Expert knowledge in usability engineering and field study methodologies
• Proven laboratory, interview, and observation skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Strong collaboration and organization skills
• Strong video capture and editing, familiarity with Morae a plus
• Advanced degree or equivalent in HCI, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Usability Engineering, Anthropology, or related field
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools
• Experience in the financial services industry a plus
