Position: Senior Manager, Customer Information Analytics and Data Mining

Reports to: VP, Customer Information Strategy – Corporate Brand Management

Description:   Senior Manager of Customer Information Analytics and Data Mining will support efforts to drive value of customer data at The Walt Disney Company by developing deep knowledge of the enterprise customer base and employing data analysis / mining and campaign measurement techniques to develop insights for targeted and customer relationship marketing.  The incumbent will contribute to cross-company CRM strategies aimed at collecting meaningful, rich consumer data, and will partner with technology stakeholders to continually improve the quality and usefulness of the database environment.   The incumbent will also partner with business unit marketers as needed to support their individual business efforts to use data to optimize campaign effectiveness.  

Department Description: The mission of the corporate Customer Information Strategy department is to optimize the value of customer information for marketing by developing enterprise-wide standards and best practices for collection, sharing and use of customer data. 


The department is expanding to include business ownership for and management of a new, global customer data marketing and analytics environment, currently under development. The environment will be a customer information resource to all lines of business and brands in The Walt Disney Company worldwide. 

As the owner of record for the Customer Data Environment, the Customer Information Strategy department will lead cross-functional business and data governance efforts, and partner closely with business unit marketing teams to provide data analysis, reporting and campaign support as necessary. In addition, the department will partner with a dedicated Information Technology team to form an information management “center of excellence” that will collectively manage day-to-day operations of the environment, and ensure changing business needs are identified and addressed through ongoing development of capabilities. 

Responsibilities:

 


  • Identify and execute data analytics to continually increase knowledge of customer behaviors and trends across businesses and brands, and translate into strategies for increased customer engagement and loyalty
  • Conduct marketing campaign functions for businesses units that require support, including standard and adhoc analysis, report development and execution, model development, campaign measurement and list generation
  • Define key success measures and develop standard reports to understand and improve the quality, usefulness and value of customer data to the enterprise over time
  • Contribute to and/or participate in cross-business marketing governance and data stewardship programs
  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership to junior analysts, as team grows. 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

         8+ years experience in database marketing and analytics

          Strong quantitative skills, with experience executing and managing data-driven initiatives for application in marketing efforts

         Strong proficiency in SAS; other analytic and mining tools a plus

         Strong thought leadership and ability to translate business requirements and questions into analytic projects

         Strong communication skills with proven ability to craft and deliver presentations / communications that convey key findings to business constituents

         Experience leading projects and people without direct authority

•    Experience partnering with technology teams on large scale customer data warehouses and tools a plus

          Excellent relationship skills with demonstrated ability to work successfully across levels and functions

          Bachelor Degree is Required and MBA strongly preferred
