Audible.com (a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com) is looking for a dynamic and motivated software testing engineer to join the Quality Assurance Team. As a member of the team you will have the opportunity to help participate in the building of Audible’s website platform.

The primary task of the Software Development Engineer in Test is to assist the development during various stages of a project including requirements gathering, documentation, design, testing phases and deployment.

 

This is an extremely challenging role that demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of industry experience developing and testing web-based software
  • Must have experience working in QA, developing automated tests for web-based products
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, Perl and Unix shell scripting is required
  • Strong development background on large projects on collaborative teams
  • Web Service experience with XML, XSD, WSDL, REST, AJAX and SOAP and a history testing service layers
  • Solid understanding of web security and high-performance web interfaces
  • Experience with high volume, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
  • Experience working with relational databases (Oracle and JDBC/Hibernate a plus)
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as SoapUI, Selenium, OpenSTA a plus
  • Familiarity with Automated Testing Tools and White Box testing in a Web environment is highly desired
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
  • Understanding of system and application performance limits and characteristics
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
  • Collaborate with business owners to solidify requirements
  • Extremely analytical with the desire to measure the customer impact and effectiveness of software releases
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field
