Distributed Storage Software Engineer

Do you get fired up by the complexity of Dynamo’s infrastructure or the amount of data stored in BigTable? If so then Quantcast has a job for you. We’re looking for an engineer to architect and build a new distributed data storage system from the ground up. This will be an exceptionally fast and highly reliable storage system that can access massive amounts of data at blazing fast rates, hundreds of thousands of times per second. This is a unique opportunity for a systems computing wizard to work with a massive distributed computing architecture and build an audacious, first of its kind product.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with manager of Edge Services to make major decisions regarding architecture, planning and implementation of system
· Architect and develop production code that is top of its class in terms of quality, efficiency, and elegance
· Liaise with internal teams to implement and plan data storage project
Requirements:
· Graduate or post graduate degree in Computer Science or related field (MS preferred)
· Strong background working with Distributed Systems and/or large scale Data Storage systems
· Strong Object Oriented programming background (Java or C++)
Reporting Structure:
This position will report directly to the Lead Engineer of Edge Services Team.
