The senior accountant will be an integral part of the ON finance team with significant interaction with all departments within the organization. ON is a growing and dynamic, high performance organization with a start-up environment.  This role is expected to grow and develop along with the organization. 

Essential Job Functions:
•    Reconciliations and journal entries for Cash, Fixed Assets, Prepaids and Accruals
•    Accounting for the investments of the ($300 million) not-for-profit endowment, including purchases, income accruals, unrealized and realized gains/losses
•    Collecting various fund reports to prepare valuation analysis on alternative/private equity funds
•    Management of the employee expense reimbursement system and corporate AMEX account
•    Preparing budget variance analysis
•    Assisting with the completion of monthly and quarterly internal reporting package
•    Assisting in the determination of portfolio company valuations via public market comparables analysis
•    Participate in the internal portfolio review process by analyzing and tracking portfolio company financial performance


 Additional Responsibilities:
•    Assisting with the development of reports and analytic output, including benchmark analysis of endowment performance
•    Managing vendor relationships (banking, brokers, asset manager)
•    Perform accounting research and interpretation of financial reporting requirements
•    Continually seek opportunities to learn new aspects of the organization
•    Additional duties and responsibilities in response to business needs

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree required plus 2 – 5 years of previous work experience in public accounting or general accounting / finance
•    Familiarity with investment concepts a must and accounting for investments a plus
•    Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and FRX applications a plus
•    General proficiency in MS office applications (particularly Excel) and ability to learn new applications quickly 
•    Effective communicator that works effectively in a team environment
•    Ability to self-start and evaluate processes
•    Willingness to learn and leverage developmental opportunities
•    Customer service orientation
•    Flexibility and adaptability commensurate with working in a start-up environment
