SDK Product Manager

 

The SDK Product Manager owns the definition of business requirements for the Software Development Kit component of Palm’s new system software.

 

The successful candidate will engage directly with developers and analyze the major technology trends in web and mobile development to develop a rolling 2 year roadmap of features and priorities for SDK development.  As Product Manager you will represent these product plans and priorities internally to Engineering and Developer Relations/Support as well as externally to Palm developers and ecosystem partners. You will partner with Business Development when necessary to develop a strong team of committed tool partners and with Developer Relations/Developer Technical Support to build a vibrant Developer community.  You will also lead development of outbound communication materials (white papers, web site, FAQ, presentations, etc.) by providing content, strategy and direction to cross functional marketing teams, with focus on partner

adoption and product implementation.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years in product management or software application development
  • 3 or more years experience in software design and development of web applications

 

Skills/Experience:

 

  • Must have strong technical background, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, be highly organized, manage internal and external team communications, be able to prioritize tasks, and maximize internal resources.
  • Ability to keep up to date on new and competitive technologies.
  • Demonstrated success defining requirements and driving these with Engineering and cross-functional groups.
  • Must have proven experience with developer community/web app developers. 

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor degree with a technical discipline required.
  •  MBA or advanced degree desired.
